May 7 Meeting

Blake Kruse to Present on Greenhouse Culture and Orchid Culture

At our Thursday, May 7, meeting Blake Kruse of Timbucktoo Orchids will give a presentation on Greenhouse Culture and Construction.

Members often ask for more cultural and technical knowledge. Have you wanted to get started with a greenhouse, not sure of the first steps? Just built yourself a greenhouse and want tips on orchid culture inside a greenhouse? Need some help getting your growing space in tip-top shape? This month, all of those questions will be answered!

Blake Kruse is a horticulturist and orchid enthusiast who has grown plants (orchids and beyond) at the hobby, commercial, and institutional levels. He is an accredited American Orchid Society judge and grows plants both indoors, in the greenhouse, and under shaded patios. He is employed as a horticulturist at Botanica, the Wichita Gardens; as well as a partner in Timbucktoo Orchids, raising the weird and wonderful species and doing breeding work in the Maxillaria, Lycaste, and Bulbophyllum groups.

The meeting begins at 7:30pm at First Christian Church, 1601 Sunset Boulevard, Houston.

If you haven’t already ordered your official Houston Orchid Society name badge, you can now order yours online.
