One of the best features of the HOS community is the possibility for experienced orchid growers to share growing tips with other members. In the past, our “Newcomers Group” helped those who were members for less than two years learn more about basic culture. The “Intermediate Group” delved into more advanced topics. As pandemic concerns halted our ability to meet regularly, the two groups have been combined to form what is informally called the “Culture Club,” which will meet periodically on Sunday afternoons. Culture Club committee members are Jay Balchan, Don Ghiz, and Rick Hepler, who will plan the meetings and presentations. Field trips may be planned as part of Culture Club activities.

A wide range of topics, from beginner to advanced, may be covered. Examples include in-depth studies of orchid genera and their specific culture, disease prevention and remedies, fertilizing and watering, and how to manage a greenhouse.

If you are interested in participating in the Culture Club, please complete the form below, and we will send you an email with details of our next meeting.
