The month started off with the Houston Orchid Society Summer Workshop. Eight plants were submitted for judging with one award granted to Stephen Moffitt’s Catasetum Fernanda Machada Carvalha ‘Pauline Moffitt’, receiving an HCC 77.
Because the Summer Workshop was the week before the monthly judging, only four plants were submitted on August 16. Two plants were awarded, both presented by Stephen Moffitt. A beautiful Clowesia russelliana with a spectacular pendent inflorescence received an HCC 79. The other was a Catasetum Karen Armstrong, which received an AM 80.
Bring your plant to the next judging in Houston on September 20 at the church!
