Sergio Garcia to Speak at November 3 Meeting

A Journey Through Cattleya Collecting, Cultivating, and Breeding

At our November 3 meeting, Sergio Garcia will take us through the intricacies of Cattleyas. He will cover such topics as

  • How to choose plants and build your collection
  • Understanding hybrids and species
  • Cultivation—a look at the different directions that Cattleya breeding has taken and what types of flowers can be expected.

The meeting will be held at First Christian Church, our usual meeting place, although Sergio will speak via Zoom. He will also send a plant list from his own breeding program, from which we can place a group order after the meeting.

The meeting begins at 7:30pm at 1601 Sunset Boulevard near Rice University. Bring your blooming plants for the Show-and-Tell table and your dollars for the monthly plant raffle. Water and snacks will be provided. Everyone is welcome!
