The Houston Judging Center held its monthly meeting on Saturday, October 19, at the First Christian Church. Ten judges, one associate, and three students judged nine entries. One award was made to exhibitor Dennis Tomjack.
The award was to Cahuzacara Hsinying Pink Doll ‘Nelly’s Hot Pink’, AM/AOS 82 points. So as to not confuse, Cahuzacara is a Cattleya-type plant made up of Rhyncholaeliocattleya and Brassocatanthe parents. In the past, the genus may have been a Potinara.
Our next meeting will be on November 16, and visitors and exhibitors are welcome to attend. Should you want to learn more about orchids, we have openings for clerks and, as always, new students.
