One of the best features of the HOS community is the possibility for experienced orchid growers to share growing tips with other members. Our “Culture Club” is a great way for less experienced growers to learn from more experienced growers. The group meets periodically on Sunday afternoons at a local member’s home or greenhouse. The 2026 chairperson of the group is Tim Young, who plans the meetings and presentations. Field trips may be planned as part of Culture Club activities.
A wide range of topics, from beginner to advanced, may be covered. Examples include in-depth studies of orchid genera and their specific culture, disease prevention and remedies, fertilizing and watering, and how to manage a greenhouse.
