April 4 Meeting

Malcolm McCorquodale Shares Insights for Taking Orchid Photos

Malcolm McCorquodale has been taking pictures since his parents gave him a Konica in high school around 1976. In 2008, Malcolm was asked to become the awards photographer for the Houston Judging Center of the American Orchid Society and has been doing that ever since. Malcolm’s photos have appeared in the AOS Orchids magazine and the Houston Chronicle, and his photos enhance most pages of this website.

At our Thursday, April 4, meeting, Malcolm will discuss photography techniques such as lighting, camera angles, and lenses to use and why. He will also touch on photographing orchids using a smart phone.

Malcolm is a member of Houston Orchid Society, the Astros branch of the American Begonia Society, the Texas Gulf Coast Fern Society, and Bromeliad Society of Houston.
