Awards Granted by Houston Judging Center in March 2024

Hello HOS members and visitors:

It was a big month for judges. We judged the HOS Show on March 8 and then our monthly judging on March 16. Here are the details:

HOS Show

Three awards were granted:

Ctsm. discolor ‘Rare Earth Orchids’, owned by Stephen Moffit, received an HCC of 77 pts.
Paph. Hawaiian Venus ‘Elaine’, owned by Derek Lowenstein, received an HCC of 78 pts.
Den. Little Green Apples ‘Holly’, owned by Holly Miller, received an AM of 81 pts.

March 16 Monthly Judging

Two awards were granted during monthly judging:

Bro. ortgiesiana ‘Sherry’, owned by Brent Arnspiger, received a HCC of 78 pts.
Bulb. fletcherianum ‘Westway Farms’, owned by Don Ghiz (yes, that’s me!), received an AM of 83 pts.

Please remember that your plants won’t get an award if left at home. We welcome you to bring them in and learn from the judges.
