Three plants were submitted to the Houston Judging Center in December. One award was granted to Stephen Moffitt for his Fredclarkeara Desert Bordeaux ‘Katerine Brown.’ This was the 42nd award granted in 2023 by the Houston Judging Center and the 8th award to Stephen Moffitt in 2023. Fredclarkeara Desert Bordeaux ‘Katerine Brown’ (Mormodia Painted Desert ‘SVO’ x Catasetum Alexa ‘Good One’), AM/AOS 85, owned by Stephen Moffitt:
Seventeen well-arranged, flat, dusty-rose, heavily spotted burgundy flowers on a 34-cm, pendent inflorescence; sepals and petals lanceolate; lip spatulate, cupped, margin finely fringed, callus burgundy; column and anther cap dark burgundy; substance firm; texture satiny.
