"AOS Auction"
The 2009 spring meetings of the American Orchid Society,
SouthWest Regional Orchid Grower's Association, Orchid Digest Corporation,
International Phalaenopsis Alliance, Slipper Orchid Alliance, The
Pleurothallid Alliance and Odontoglossum Alliance will convene in Houston,
Texas, April 22-26. All AOS members are invited to attend.
A highlight will be the auction on Saturday, April 25, beginning with a
preview (5 to 6 pm) followed by the main event (6 to 7:30 pm). Excitement is
mounting among collectors for the rare opportunity to purchase a bound set
of the AOS Bulletin (1942-2006) from the personal collection of the late
Mary Noble McQuerry. Likewise, scarce individual issues of the Bulletin from
the 1930s and 1940s, and two issues of volume one, number one, will be
offered. A set of framed original prints of the Imperial edition of Sander's
Reichenbachia (to be sold individually) will be a highlight of the evening's
festivities, along with several divisions of rare plants. The proceeds of
the auction will go to the general fund of the American Orchid society.

The AOS Auction is
coordinated by Marian Sheehan, Chair of the AOS Special
Funding Committee. Items for donation to the AOS
Auction that takes place at 5:00 p.m. on
Saturday, April 25, 2009, should be taken by 2:00 p.m.
